Apple admits there is a critical vulnerability in iPhone and MacBook

9to5Mac: Apple confirmed the presence of a vulnerability in the iPhone 12 and MacBook Air M2

Apple has acknowledged the existence of a vulnerability that allows users of some smartphones and computers to be hacked. This was reported by 9to5Mac.

The corporation confirmed the presence of a critical vulnerability and said that they would prepare a patch to correct the problem. This comes after security researchers from the firm Trail of Bits said that an identity theft vulnerability was present on iPhone 12 smartphones and MacBook laptops with the M2 chip.

The LeftoverLocals vulnerability, which experts described, uses an exploit that allows you to read data stored in the GPU. However, to hack, the hacker must have physical access to the device.

The company noted that it first notified Apple about the problem and then informed the public. At first, the vulnerability could be used on almost many smartphones and laptops of the brand, but then Apple fixed the problem on almost all devices.

Earlier, Trend Micro specialists spoke about the Phemedrone Stealer virus, which attacked PC users. The malicious program has learned to bypass Windows Defender SmartScreen algorithms and related queries.
