SellCell: iPhone 15 Pro Max turned out to be the most profitable phone for resale

Specialists from the SellCell service told us which smartphones retain their value the longest after purchase. This was reported in a report on the company’s website.

Analysts analyzed the secondary market and found out which phones are most valuable. The most profitable device for resale turned out to be the iPhone 15 Pro Max with a storage capacity of 256 gigabytes. The device is available at retail for $1,199; over three months its price has decreased by 18.2 percent or $218.

In second place was the iPhone 15 with 256 gigabytes of memory. If at the start the device cost $899, then three months later its owners resold the smartphone with a 22 percent discount or $198. The top 3 also included the iPhone 15 Plus with a 256 gigabyte drive: the gadget, priced at $999 at the start, was resold by 24.7 percent or $247 cheaper.

The top 15 most valuable devices on the secondary market were dominated by new Apple models. Among the iPhones were the Samsung Galaxy S23+ with 256 gigabytes of memory, which depreciated by 35.3 percent in three months, and the same model with 512 gigabytes, which fell in price by 38.3 percent.

In mid-January, authoritative analyst Ming-Chi Ko named the iPhone 15 Pro Max as Apple’s best-selling smartphone. According to the expert, by the summer of 2024 the model will account for about 40-45 percent of sales of all new iPhones.
