During a hearing in mid-December, a detective noted that Irina García “suffered 46 stab wounds, several of which were to the face.”

In Univisión they published that Derek Rosa “said he stabbed his mother in the neck while she was sleeping, cutting an artery with a kitchen knife from which she bled profusely.”

Detective Joseph Elosegui revealed, for added impact, that Derek Rosa had “made several online searches, including: “What is the best place to stab someone?”, “Lethal is a small knife?”, “Lethal is a small knife ?” “Is it easier to kill someone with a small knife?” and “Can a knife cut bones?”
