The antisocial ones wore weapons and explosives and repeatedly threatened and beat employees.

Journalist José Luis Calderón was even attacked with firearms while the subjects showed the explosives to the cameras, which are still broadcasting.

The images have gone around the world amid an unprecedented situation in the country and various regions. Considering the situation, President Daniel Noboa issued Decree 111, declaring an internal armed conflict at the national level and ordering the armed forces to neutralize groups.

It also declared 22 transnational organized crime groups terrorist organizations and belligerent non-state actors.

A few minutes later, the President of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele, posted a message on the social network X in which several users attributed it to a reference to what happened in Ecuador.

Bukele has been the target of criticism for actions taken against gangs alleged to have violated human rights. (JO)
