Some people strongly disliked the new colors, which make the application seem a bit faded and boring. Fortunately, there are also many useful new features – . Now we get another solution that won’t disturb anyone and will definitely make using Maps more enjoyable.
Google Maps in 3D. The company has added a feature that makes using the application more enjoyable
There is now a new function in the Google application that allows you to display a map in three-dimensional form. We then see the shapes of the surrounding buildings, which looks very interesting, especially in the case of skyscrapers in the center of Warsaw. Importantly, however, we will see a three-dimensional image only after zooming in significantly on the map, because from a greater distance (even after turning on the 3D view), the map is displayed in a standard way.
Of course, not everyone may like the new view of Google Maps, which the company anticipated and made the function available only to those interested. By default, the standard 3D view is enabled, and to add a third dimension, the function must be enabled yourself. We can do this by clicking the icon (in the upper right corner of the map) that opens the list of map views, and then clicking the 3D icon. You can see how the new option works in the screenshots below.

Unfortunately, the new product does not work in satellite mode. After launching the three-dimensional view, the application automatically switches to the default mode. Fortunately, 3D is available both when viewing maps and when navigating to a destination. After setting the route and clicking “Start”, you will immediately see a map with three-dimensional buildings.
As we have checked, the new function already works in Poland, at least in the case of smartphones running Android. It should also be available for iPhone apps and when using Android Auto.
