Krzysztof Gawkowski made a mistake on the radio. He didn’t know an important number

Heading the Ministry of Digitization. During an interview with Robert Mazurek on RMF, he was asked what to do if you accidentally click on a suspicious link in an SMS. – After clicking on a dangerous link, you must immediately call 8080 – he replied. However, when the journalist dialed the number, it turned out that it was unavailable.

The reason is simple. The number 8080 is not a hotline. It is designed to receive text messages. We can send suspicious messages via SMS that we have received and think may be a scam. How to do it? “Report malicious text messages. Forward the message to 8080. […] Send us the entire message in the original text form – do not cut out the link or content and do not send it in the form of photos or screenshots. The number provided is only for receiving SMS messages,” explains CERT Polska on the X platform.
