A New York judge yesterday Wednesday began releasing the identities of people linked in court documents to Jeffrey Epstein, the American financier who committed suicide in 2019 while awaiting trial for sex crimes.

The first set contains 40 previously undisclosed documents containing nearly 1,000 pages of testimonies and statements, and the total set of files is expected to include the names of prominent people.

One of the most revealing statements relates to the former US president Bill Clinton, who would appear under the name ‘John Doe 36’. His name is mentioned dozens of times, but again without any clear indication of illegal activities.

Who was Jeffrey Epstein, the American businessman accused of pedophilia

The revelation is part of a defamation lawsuit between Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s girlfriend and sentenced to 20 years in prison in 2022, and a prosecutor against the former partner, Virginia Giuffre.

“Bill Clinton liked young girls,” according to revelations in those documents. One of these is the testimony of Johanna Sjoberg, one of several women who accused Jeffrey Epstein of abuse after being recruited through a process described in court documents as “chillingly similar” to that described by other alleged victims.

However, Clinton’s advisers claim that she only flew to Africa in 2002, on Epstein’s private plane with actor Kevin Spacey and Chris Tucker. Clinton was also on the pedophile’s private island in the Caribbean, but Prince Andrew’s accuser, Virginia Guifre, said the former president was there, “but I never saw him do anything inappropriate.”

Michael Jackson, David Copperfield, Bill Gates…

Johanna Sjoberg’s statement is 179 pages long. Although she was a young student at Palm Beach Atlantic University. When Epstein’s partner Ghislaine Maxwell approached her in 1999 and offered her a job as a telephone operator, she was already an adult. According to The Sun, Sjoberg claims that “the work pretext lasted only one day, and that she was subsequently encouraged to have sexual contact with both Epstein and Prince Andrew”.

In the text she describes how Prince Andrew touched her breast while they took photos. Although the story was well known, his testimony had remained secret until now. He says that at a meeting where Virginia Giuffre was also present, he discovered it was Prince Andrew because there was a puppet of the prince himself and he thought it was funny. “I just remember someone suggested we take a picture, and they told us to sit on the couch. So Andrés and Virginia sat down on the couch and put the doll on their laps. And then I sat on Andrés’ lap, and I thought about my own free will, and they took the doll’s hands and put them on Virginia’s chest, and then Andrés put his on mine,” he says.

Who were among the guests on Jeffrey Epstein’s Little St James Island

Sjoberg also says that once he was on the tycoon’s private plane, the pilots told them they couldn’t land in New York and that they would divert to Atlantic City and then “Jeffrey [Epstein] He said, “Great, we’ll call Trump and go (…) to the casino,” but no criminal behavior was mentioned about him.

Sjoberg also indicates that he met Michael Jackson at Epstein’s mansion in Palm Beach, Florida, whom he says did not give a massage, and on another occasion with the magician David Copperfield. He performed some magic tricks and, according to her statement, asked her if she knew that “girls get paid to find other girls.”

Some names of the documents remain confidential at the request of the persons mentioned. Among them, according to American media, is Microsoft founder Bill Gates, who has publicly regretted the meetings he says he had with Epstein to discuss their philanthropic collaboration.

There are also legal documents and requests asking Virginia Giuffre to provide photos and videos she has of herself with a range of people, without it being clear why they appear on the list or whether this material actually exists. Among them are Bill Clinton, former Vice President of the United States Al Gore and scientist Stephen Hawking.

Pastrana on the Epstein list

Investor Glenn Dubin, modeling agent Jean Luc Brunel (who committed suicide in prison in France before being tried for rape) and former Limited and Victoria’s Secret CEO Leslie Wexner are also cited in compromising ways. Those names had previously been revealed. In one of the statements, Giuffre points out that she had sexual relationships with businessmen, politicians and other personalities, including billionaire Tom Pritzker, executive president of Hyatt Hotels; former New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson, Democratic politician George Mitchell and scientist Marvin Minsky, plus others whose names he could not remember.

In that testimony, when asked by people with political connections, Guifre, after citing Richardson and Mitchell, among others, added: “There was, you know, another foreign president. I can’t remember your name. He was Spanish.” There is no evidence linking any Spanish president to Epstein. Previously, he also said in the same statement that this so-called “Spanish” president was tall and dark, in his 40s, with a foreign accent and that he would have met him in New Mexico. “I’m sorry. “It’s very difficult to go back and remember many different events with many different people,” he explains. Apparently it is former Colombian President Andrés Pastrana, who does confirm that he flew on the ‘Lolita express’, but only to get from the Bahamas to Cuba to visit Fidel Castro.

Epstein’s associates are also mentioned as flying on his private plane on one occasion or joining him at a party, but without any incriminating elements that would call their behavior into question. Fake lists of celebrities who do not actually appear in the now released papers were circulating on social networks even before the documents were published. (JO)
