BusinessKorea: Samsung will release an AI camera to capture “invisible objects”
Samsung has planned to release a smartphone camera sensor with full support for artificial intelligence (AI). This was reported by BusinessKorea.
The company intends to create an advanced camera for a smartphone together with partner SK hynix. Insiders could not say exactly what characteristics the new sensors will have, but noted that they will allow you to shoot “invisible objects.”
The authors explained that with the help of AI, the camera will receive more information from the object, capturing an image invisible to the human eye. New technologies will also reduce latency, improve image quality and reduce power consumption.
As an example, Android Authority journalists cited the camera of some Huawei smartphones, which made it possible to take fluorescent photographs. The 2020 OnePlus 8 Pro also had a camera with a filter that could shoot through certain materials, such as clothing. Samsung and SK hynix’s technology is expected to be “at a higher level.”
At the end of November, Samsung Corporation indirectly confirmed the release of smartphones with built-in support for artificial intelligence (AI). Thus, the company has registered the rights to the brands AI Phone and AI Smartphone – “Phone with AI” and “Smartphone with AI”, respectively.
