ZUS is alarming that false reports have recently appeared online about the alleged equalization of the 500 plus benefit to PLN 800. This is complete nonsense, as ZUS does not plan to increase the amount of benefits already paid.
False application for “500 plus compensation”. How to get 800 plus?
Paweł Żebrowski, spokesman for ZUS, admitted that more people come to the plant with a printed and completed application for compensation for parental benefits (called form WYR.8P), which they found online. Based on the application, they demand that the amount of benefits from the 500 plus program paid for the period from August to December 2023 be increased to PLN 800.
It turns out that these are people who were fooled by false information about alleged compensations spread on the Internet. The #WłupWeryfikacji profile run by NASK published a sample of such a false application on
Żebrowski also warns against fraudsters who call Poles and offer to act as intermediaries in submitting a false compensation application that is not planned. In return, criminals demand payment of up to several dozen thousand zlotys as “remuneration” for providing help.
ZUS explains that the benefit of PLN 800 – under the 800 plus program – is due from the new year. Moreover, to receive a higher amount from January, you do not have to do anything, because the change in the amount of the benefit paid will take place automatically.
From January 1, 2024, the 500 plus parental benefit will change into 800 plus. This will happen automatically without the need to submit an application
– noted the ZUS spokesman in an interview with PAP. The exception are parents of newborn children, who have three months to submit an appropriate application.
