YouTube has recently been trying to encourage users to buy the Premium package, which disables ads and provides several additional functions (including the ability to download videos to the device’s memory). There has been a lot of talk about subsequent attempts to block users who do not pay for the package and use ad-blocking software.
YouTube Premium also shows ads? Google reacts: this is an error
Now it appears that some Premium users are still seeing ads. It is true that these are not advertising clips displayed before or during the screening (as on free YouTube), but banners that appear at the bottom of the screen after watching the material. At least this is according to reports from users who shared screenshots
Internet users are outraged because blocking all ads is one of the main advantages of the Premium package. However, it turns out that YouTube is not testing the limits of its users’ patience, but is struggling with technical problems. One of the website’s users contacted the help center and was told that many people reported this problem, but that the presence of ads in the paid package was the result of a technical error.
The information was also confirmed by the Polish Google Press Office, responsible for YouTube, in a comment to the company. The company wrote that it was aware of this problem, which only affects “some YouTube Premium subscribers” and is caused by a “technical error”. It was noted that work is underway to remove the glitch that causes ads to be displayed in the Premium package.
