In record time, American authorities were able to capture a prisoner who had escaped from a prison in Texas.

They identified him as Robert Dean Yancy Jr. and he was serving a life sentence. Media such as Daily Mail mentioned the topic as pedophile.

Yancy escaped in a car on Sunday afternoon, December 17, 2023. CNN en Español said two people had been arrested in connection with the escape. In Daily Mail they announced that one of those arrested was the prisoner’s mother.

Shortly before 4 p.m. that day, Yancy took over the street by escaping from the Clemens unit in Brazoria, Texas. Confirming the news, authorities indicated he was “flying” in a white 2021 Nissan Versa, license plate DNR9145.

Yancy, who is 39 years old, was sentenced to life in prison without parole in May 2022 for the continued sexual abuse of a Victoria County minor, Univision published.

The victim is barely ten years old. According to a statement from Victoria County, “Yancy Jr. abused his victim over a period of three years, beginning when the victim was just seven years old,” Daily Mail reported.

During a two-day trial, the victim testified alongside her brother, who witnessed some of the abuse.

Daily Mail published on Monday, December 18 that on Sunday evening at 8:30 PM, “Yancy Jr.’s mother, Lenor Priestle, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge.”

“It is believed that both she and her son left Brazoria County – in Texas – long before she was apprehended,” he added.

The Texas Department of Criminal Justice reported that the recapture occurred on Monday, December 18 at 8:05 a.m.

That agency confirmed on Facebook that the Office of the Inspector General has arrested two other people in Victoria, Texas, who were believed to be involved in his escape.

Leonor Priestle, his mother, was charged with permitting/facilitating escape and Russell Williams was charged with criminal intent to escape.

The “pedophile” was taken into custody in Matagorda County, CNN reported. Yancy, authorities emphasized, “will be charged with felony escape.”
