The thirteen victims included five Ecuadorians, Colombians, Nicaraguans and Spaniards.

As part of the investigation, led by an investigating judge from the Murcia court, the testimonies of “nine people who were present in the discos that evening and who could have been harmed by the smoke or flames” will be heard, the statement said. .

The judge also asked to investigate cold fire machines, which are used at parties or concerts and which, thanks to a wind tunnel, produce vertical sparks that can reach several meters in height.

The fire was so intense that most of the victims were completely burned. Police asked their relatives for DNA samples to identify the bodies.

According to the Municipal Council of Murcia (southeast), the Fonda Milagros nightclub had been ordered to close since October 2022 due to the lack of a valid operating permit, but the measure was never implemented.
