The bot has already been named “Project Ellmann”, a reference to Richard Ellmann, an American literary critic and biographer. According to the presentation, the tool is supposed to search private user data and extract the necessary details. Then, artificial intelligence will learn the user’s behavior, habits and preferences to get to know him as best as possible. The exact capabilities of the project remain unknown for now. . The data is to be obtained primarily through access to search history and photos saved in the Google Photos service.
AI would look for all the necessary details, including people in the photos, taking into account the date, time and location of the photo. However, the tool is not intended to present only dry facts, but to capture the story told by images from the user’s account. Unless, of course, someone dares to allow the application to access all this data.
Thanks to this, the user will be able to ask the program to tell “the story of his life” – writes CNBC, recalling that the Google Photos service already contains as many as 4 trillion photos from one billion users. Google is also to work on a chatbot that will act as an intermediary in contact with the tool.
As can be concluded from the examples given, the chatbot would answer, among others: to questions about the name of the user’s dog, when he last met his siblings, when he met the people shown in the photo from his school days or who they are. Using the knowledge of user preferences, AI would even present a list of cities where it would be best to move or display our favorite dishes.
