Last Friday morning, there was a serious failure of Horizon set-top boxes providing cable TV to the (now defunct) UPC Polska network (now Play). Decoders did not want to start, displayed errors or did not show channels. As Play explained then, the problems were caused by “an error in the configuration of the Liberty Global network (the former owner of UPC Polska).”

Now the website reports that some subscribers are still complaining about problems. Some readers reported to the portal that the television had not been working for several days. According to them, it is impossible to call the hotline, and resetting the decoders recommended by the operator has no effect. They also complain about the lack of communication from Play and the fact that it is not clear when UPC Polska television will come back to life.
Similar voices appear on social media, including: in the comments on the Play profile on Facebook. In response on Wednesday, the operator advised resetting the decoder and declared that it was working to fix the error as soon as possible. Interestingly, on Thursday, Internet users’ reports about Play’s internet problems began to appear on Facebook (these problems are probably not related).
On Thursday, in response to Wirtualnemedia.pl, Play declared that Horizon decoders now work flawlessly. “The TV service provided on Horizon decoders operates properly throughout Poland,” the operator wrote. He added that the problems that still occur may be of an “individual nature”. At the same time, the company encourages the replacement of set-top boxes (previously sold by UPC Polska) with new ones (from Play), which, however, involves signing a new commitment for 12 months. It is worth mentioning that the network has been encouraging UPC Polska customers to migrate to Play for several months now.
