Apple boasted iPhone protection from hacking

Apple said that not a single iPhone in Lockdown Mode could be hacked

Apple noted the high resistance of the iPhone to hacker attacks. This was reported by TechCrunch.

In a conversation with media journalists, representatives of the corporation recalled that Lockdown Mode was launched on the iPhone in 2022. When activated, the device stops downloading unknown content and blocks data transfer. Apple boasted that in a year not a single smartphone operating in Lockdown Mode could be hacked.

According to the publication’s journalists, the special mode can really protect against hacker attacks. However, its constant use is difficult, since Lockdown Mode seriously limits the functionality of the device. For example, some applications do not work in protected mode, and many websites may become unreadable.

The authors cited Citizen Lab specialist Bill Marczak, who assessed Apple’s protective mode. According to him, the protection system can not only prevent hacking, but also notify the user about it: “This is a powerful means of mitigating the consequences of an attack and a reason for great optimism.”

In August 2022, Cryptee experts criticized Lockdown Mode due to the fact that when using it, the iPhone stops loading website fonts. According to experts, using this marker the user can be easily tracked and identified.
