The new allegations are projected as another embarrassment for Joe Biden, at a key moment in the race for his 2024 re-election and with Republicans accusing him of profiting from his son’s businesses abroad.

The youngest son of the American president was earlier accused of lying about his drug use on a federal application to purchase a gun, and pleaded not guilty.

Joe Biden has insisted he supports his son despite his problematic behavior.

The new accusation states that Hunter Biden earned more than $7 million between 2016 and 2020, money he spent on ‘a lifestyle of extravagant spending’ and for what “He decided not to pay taxes.”

He added that during that period “He spent this money on drugs, escorts and girlfriends, luxury hotels and real estate rentals, exotic cars, clothes, (…) everything except his taxes.”
