IT expert Uchakin urged not to charge smartphones in a car
The battery of smartphones is based on lithium-ion battery technology, which, although efficient, has a limited number of charges. IT expert Alexey Uchakin spoke about this in an interview with Gazeta.Ru.
“This means that sooner or later they will lose their ability to store a charge, and the battery life will be reduced,” the specialist emphasized.
At the same time, according to Uchakin, there are several factors that can speed up this process. The expert noted that many people do not know that charging a gadget in a car can negatively affect the battery.
“This is due to the fact that during charging in the car, the voltage may fluctuate, which adversely affects the battery,” explained Alexey Uchakin.
In addition, it is worth paying attention to how a person charges his gadget. According to Uchakin, “it’s ideal to charge the device when the charge level is around 20-30 percent” and turn off the charger when the charge reaches 80-90 percent. As the expert emphasized, charging the phone from 0 to 100 percent can worsen the condition of the battery.
High temperatures can also damage your smartphone battery. For example, if a person leaves the phone in direct sunlight or near heat sources, this can cause overheating and reduce battery life, Uchakin concluded.
Earlier, expert Alexander Rusnak said that charging the phone not to a full battery, but to 80-90 percent. The specialist named the use of non-original chargers as another factor that can shorten the “life” of a gadget’s battery. He explained that such devices do not undergo the necessary certifications and rigorous tests.
