Unexpected PlayStation problems. Players are losing their accounts and they don’t know why

Sony is blocking some players from accessing the PlayStation Network, and it’s unclear why this is happening. The Verge website noticed that dozens of people have been complaining in recent hours about the inability to run their games on PS5.

Users are complaining on Reddit, X and other social media and forums that their PlayStation Network accounts have been unexpectedly suspended. It seems that Sony is either struggling with a failure or has decided to deal with unruly players.

Players are having problems accessing games. What’s happening with PlayStation Network?

that many readers have contacted them with the same problem, but only in the last few hours have dozens of angry players posted online. When trying to launch any game, users see a message that access to PlayStation Network has been permanently suspended due to an alleged violation of the terms of use.

“This account has been permanently suspended from PlayStation Network due to violating PlayStation Network terms and conditions” – a message with this content is displayed to blocked players. Sony does not explain what rules were violated by a given account. Moreover, some people report that even PlayStation support cannot explain the exact reasons for suspending their accounts and advises… to create new ones in order to continue enjoying the games.

For many players, however, this is not a solution, because they often spent even hundreds of dollars on games that were assigned to their original account. The Verge notes that PlayStation does not address the matter at any point and does not provide information on what could be causing the sudden problems with so many players’ accounts. The company also did not respond to a request for comment sent by the website.

It is unclear how widespread the problem is, as many other players can use their consoles and other devices connected to PS Network without any problems. There are no reports on whether similar problems also apply to players from Poland. We are probably dealing with an unusual failure, or Sony has decided to take seriously the players who actually violated the service’s regulations.
