Googling will start remove inactive accounts from your platform, while all data, files and emails associated with that account will be deleted. The company made the announcement at the beginning of the year and the day has finally arrived when it will start deleting accounts en masse.

This measure only affects accounts that have not been activated or used for more than two yearsthat is, those that were created but eventually abandoned and replaced by another account.

That is, if you have an old Gmail account where you still save your emails and photos in Google Photos, you may lose it.

How to prevent Google from deleting your account

Google only deletes inactive accounts, which means all you have to do is Sign in and use your Gmail account that there is activity. If Google detects that you are signed in, it will not delete your account.

Once inside, you can watch a YouTube video, open a document, send an email, or save a photo to Google Photos. Every activity serves as protection.

This way, all the information, emails and photos you have stored in that account will remain safe.

If you want to prevent your accounts from being hacked, try logging in and using them every now and then. This way they don’t take up unnecessary space in the cloud and Google doesn’t delete them. (JO)
