Apple patents a ring that can be worn on your finger, wrist or ankle
Apple has patented a smart ring that can be worn on any part of the body. Appleinsider reports this.
The document was found in the database of the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). According to the description, the smart device has the shape of a ring, but you can wear it not only on your finger. If desired, the user can wear it on the wrist, ankle or other part of the body.
Judging by the disclosed document, the device will be created from a flexible material that can change shape. The corporation’s engineers also described gestures that will be useful to the user of the device for control. Another feature of the gadget was the function of interaction with surrounding devices – for example, via NFC.
In addition, Apple engineers noted that the smart ring will collect data regarding the user’s activity and health. Since the concept device will not have a display, all collected and processed information will be displayed on the screen of the paired smartphone.
Apple’s smart ring first became known in 2015. Earlier, insiders said that Samsung had begun work on a smart ring with the functions of a medical gadget.
