Digital Trends: Monitor burn-in will slow down in full-screen mode

RTINGS specialists checked how well modern gaming monitors are protected from pixel burnout. This was reported by Digital Trends.

During long-term testing, experts turned on the monitors and showed the picture on them at maximum brightness. The models used in the test were Dell Alienware AW3423DWF, LG 27GR95QE-B and Samsung Odyssey OLED G8. The authors noted that according to the test results, the pixels on the screens burned out slightly.

The material states that after 700 hours of continuous playback of TV channels at maximum brightness in 16:9 format, signs of wear appeared in the central part of the screen. However, experts emphasized that they are invisible to the naked eye. The authors also named a way to slow down monitor burnout – this drawback can be combated if you use full-screen mode more often.

Experts noted that in full-screen mode, the pixels on the monitor screen burn out evenly. The material also states that in most cases, pixel burn-in is difficult to detect even after years of using the device.
