Lezama told Es ReViral that it did not occur to him to check his suitcase. He did so days later, at someone’s insistence, and noticed that he had taken certain documents and clothing with him.

“I remembered he had a folder with his papers, but it wasn’t there. “He took his background documents, birth certificates… that was a shock to me,” he said through tears.

Lezama continued to search. On social networks he wrote: “I was bitterly surprised that he took all his clothes, documents and all our savings.”

The woman, originally from Valencia, Venezuela, refused to see herself abandoned by her partner, saying: “Until he shows up, he is a missing person.”
