On Tuesday, November 21, 2023, it was learned that the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced that it had expanded the myProgress service to others two forms: the I-821Application for Temporary Protected Status, and to I-485Application for registration of permanent residence or adjustment of status.

They noted that myProgress – formerly known as Custom Processing Times – will initially be available to family-based Forms I-485 or Afghan special immigrant applicants.

The US agency announced that myProgress was implemented “to improve the customer experience by proactively addressing claimants’ concerns about the status of their benefit claims while they await a decision.”

They expect that with the expansion of myProgress, “transparency in the adjudication process will increase.”

MyProgress is the new service that allows you to know the status of your applications for work and travel permits to the United States

How to view myProgress

Applicants must create a USCIS account online or log into their account and select their pending application, according to USCIS.

If you submitted your application electronically or linked one of the applicable forms to your online account using an online access code, you will see a tab for your application titled “myProgress”.

The myProgress tab shows the estimated wait time until your case is decided, along with a check mark next to the stages when they are completed:

The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services reminded that “applicants should still visit the Case Processing Times web page to determine if they are eligible for a service consultation for a case outside of normal processing times.”
