Bloomberg: Vision Pro won’t go on sale until March due to problems

Due to problems with Vision Pro, Apple will launch the augmented reality headset later than planned. Bloomberg reports this.

According to columnist Mark Gurman, the company is still deciding on issues regarding the distribution of the device. Apple intends to establish strict control over the device distribution process. The company is also clarifying the lists of users who made pre-orders and solving various logistical issues.

Gurman noted that due to these problems, augmented reality glasses will not go on sale until March 2024. Previously, Apple announced the release of the device at the beginning of the year. At the same time, the release of the next beta version of VisionOS for the headset may also be disrupted – the company’s programmers are still working on a new version of the OS.

The agency’s observer recalled that at the first stage, Apple will distribute augmented reality glasses only in its offline stores. To purchase the device, the user will have to leave a pre-order and personally pick up the gadget. In 2024, sales of Vision Pro should start only in the United States.

In mid-October, Gurman said that the cheap version of the Apple Vision Pro would cost $1,500 to $2,500. For comparison, the original version of the headset presented in June was priced at a minimum of 3.5 thousand dollars, or about 313 thousand rubles.
