Newly elected President Daniel Noboa congratulated Javier Milei on his victory in Argentina’s presidential elections last Sunday.
Milei won 55% of the vote, compared to 44% for the economy minister, centrist Peronist Sergio Massa, according to official partial results.
“Today the reconstruction of Argentina begins. The model of decadence has come to an end. There is no way back. Enough of the impoverishing caste model, today we embrace the freedom to be a world power again,” Milei launched in his first speech to an enthusiastic crowd.

With annual inflation at 143% and 40% of the population living in poverty, Argentinians leaned toward promises of change and discourse against the anti-system political class Milei, a 53-year-old economist.
