, the Chinese army is most likely building structures that resemble US navy warships. This is due to satellite images released on Sunday by the American company Maxar Technologies.
China is building models of American ships?
The suspicious objects were found near a complex of buildings in the Taklimakan Desert, one of the largest deserts in the world in western China. The shape resembles full-size replicas or mock-ups of warships – the American aircraft carrier and two Arleigh Burke missile destroyers, which are currently used by the US Navy.
What’s more, the photos also show rails with a distance of six meters on which the objects move. Experts note that these may be models that simulate US Navy ships moving on the waters. Unfortunately, it is difficult to deduce the materials from which the objects were made from satellite images.

Why would China make copies of American ships and place them in the middle of a sandy desert? According to him, the complex near which the models were detected had already been used for ballistic missile tests conducted in the Taklimakan desert.
It is therefore possible that the construction of mock-ups of American equipment is an element of refinement or testing of anti-ship weapons that the Chinese have been developing for some time. The choice of the inland desert is not accidental – the army can test its new equipment there without being disturbed by anyone.
Reuters points out, citing the latest Pentagon report, that as early as July 2020, the Chinese will launch six DF-21 ballistic anti-ship missiles into the waters of the South China Sea near the disputed Spratly Islands. Perhaps in order to refine the technology, the Chinese army decided to hide in the desert, where it can, in part, simulate real conditions away from neighboring countries.
