Will there be a penalty for Clout MMA? Over 170 complaints about transmissions not working
customers complain primarily about the inability to watch the broadcast of the gala, despite purchasing appropriate access and having functional equipment and an Internet connection. The latest wave of applications was received by the office after October 28, i.e. after one of the fight galas organized by Clout MMA, which could only be watched on the organizer’s official streaming platform.
Some customers who contacted the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection explained that they were unable to broadcast the event at all. Those who did, however, had problems. The transmission would turn off or would not resume, and in some cases the image or sound would be lost. The Office of Competition and Consumer Protection indicates that the reports show that the organizer is at fault, and the problems persist because customers also complained about them in August 2023.
Live event broadcasts attract many fans. If an entrepreneur decides to introduce this type of services to his offer, he must have the technical infrastructure that is key to the streaming process in order to be able to provide the declared level of service. The entrepreneur is responsible for the quality of the service and the obligation to compensate in the event of failure
– said the President of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection, Tomasz Chróstny, in a statement.
The office also notes that some of the complaints concern problems with sending the complaint form after a failed screening. One of the reports was forwarded to the National Tax Administration due to the suspicion that “a minor participated in the promotion of gambling” during the event. The Office of Competition and Consumer Protection will now collect and analyze materials in this case and if the allegations are confirmed, proceedings will be initiated “against specific entities,” the office writes. They face a fine of up to 10 percent of turnover.
that Clout MMA offered dissatisfied fans a refund or free access to one of the next galas in the coming months. However, the organizer did not comment on the decision of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection itself.
