Avant-garde technology and the race with the Chinese
Tesla has so far refused to comment on this matter, and no dates have been announced. But the anonymous information about the production of a cheaper model came a month after the European Commission initiated proceedings regarding subsidies that the Chinese authorities granted to producers of “electrics” in the Middle Kingdom. And the Tesla Model 3 exports from its Shanghai factory around the world and has likely benefited from Chinese subsidies.
Meanwhile, other manufacturers are racing to compete on price with cheaper Chinese electric cars. Elon Musk has been signaling for a long time that he would like to create a less expensive model of an electric car based on Tesla. For now, however, technology did not allow this. The breakthrough was supposed to come in September last year, when the company announced that it had found a way to produce a less cheaper model. The idea is to cast the chassis in one piece, which would significantly improve production. Tesla declares that it wants to ultimately produce up to one million vehicles a year in its German factory. In addition, the new model will also be produced in China and Mexico.
Electric cars in Poland
According to data from the end of September 2023, a total of 50,386 passenger and commercial cars (BEVs) were registered in Poland.
