An employee of a mobile network showroom offered customers lucrative contracts and collected bonuses

The police detained an employee of a mobile network showroom who was cheating his customers to get bonuses for good sales results. Unaware customers were given contracts to sign that were completely contrary to the arrangements.

The police filed an indictment against a man who worked in a showroom – as it writes in the release – of a “popular mobile network”, located in the SulÄ™cin poviat. The 21-year-old allegedly earned at least several thousand zlotys by fraud and at the expense of customers.

He changed contracts before signing and stole equipment from customers. He could get 8 years in prison

, the young man carried out his activity at the turn of October and November 2022. As an employee of the salon, his task was to serve customers and determine the scope of contracts with them. After determining the details, he prepared and then presented to the clients for signature contracts that were completely different from what had been agreed a moment earlier. Those who did not read them carefully were unable to realize that they were dealing with a fraud.

As the police write, for example, instead of a document confirming the resignation from the service, the accused gave customers contracts to sign obliging them to continue the service, but as part of a more expensive subscription. He also deliberately used a tablet for older people to make it even more difficult for them to read the documents and realize that they were dealing with a fraud. In one case, the detained employee also allegedly forged his client’s signature.

The fraud meant that the 21-year-old had good sales results, for which he received bonuses. He was supposed to receive “well over PLN 1,000” each month for this, but it was not stated how long he received the additional remuneration. Moreover, the 21-year-old appropriated equipment that was supposed to be delivered to customers as part of the concluded contracts. In this way, he managed to intercept and detain, among others: router, phone and watch.

When the police learned about the case, they began searching for the injured. Ultimately, we managed to find seven injured customers, reconstruct the course of their visits to the unfortunate salon and determine the extent of the damage. The 21-year-old has already been charged with both fraud and forgery. He will be charged with both offenses in court. He faces up to eight years in prison.
