The regime led by Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo is increasingly trying to gain control over various institutions. The last of these was the Supreme Court, which Murillo took over after the National Assembly passed a resolution stripping him of his powers.

A source told Infobae that it had already taken control of several ministries and is pursuing absolute control over the country.

“Rosario Murillo seeks absolute control over the country, to ensure succession to power and avoid a crisis in the event of the eventual death of Daniel Ortega,” he indicated.

Nicaragua’s National Assembly (parliament) approved a reform of the political constitution in Managua on Tuesday, repealing the Supreme Court’s powers over public real estate and commercial property records.

With the constitutional reform approved by parliament, where the ruling party has an absolute majority, “the public records are separated from the administration of justice responsible for the judiciary,” the Nicaraguan legislature said in a statement.

This power of the State also indicated that the Legislature approved the Law of Seizure of the Register System, which places the public registers under the management of the Office of the Attorney General of the Republic, which acts as the legal representative of the State .

According to the Sandinista lawmakers, the public registers will fall under the administration of the Attorney General of the Republic “to streamline and optimize the services provided by them in the areas of property, commercial matters, persons, movable guarantees and beneficial owners of commercial matters .” businesses.”.

The constitutional reform strips the National Judicial Career Council, subordinate to the Supreme Court, of the power to “supervise the administrative functioning of the public registries of real estate and commercial property, as well as that of the common service offices.”

Now, the administrative supervision of these documents will fall under the control of the Public Prosecution Service, through the Act of Allocation of the National Archives System.

The constitutional reform and the new law were approved at a time when the Supreme Court “intervened” through the National Police.

According to the newspaper La Prensa, the National Police have arrested “dozens of employees of the judiciary, including President Alba Luz Ramos, who was expelled from her office and sent to her home, where she is still surrounded by police patrols” and would be prosecuted . in research. .

Neither the National Police nor the Supreme Court have referred to these alleged arrests and investigations. (JO)
