President Joe Biden announced that American citizens would begin evacuating this Wednesday Loopa war-torn Palestinian area where hundreds of injured residents and foreigners are fleeing.

“Today, thanks to American leadership, we secured safe passage for injured Palestinians and foreigners to leave Gaza,” Biden said on X, formerly Twitter.

“We hope that American citizens will leave today and that more will leave in the coming days,” he stated.

The spokesperson of the National Security Council, John Kirbyconfirmed that some Americans are leaving Gaza on Wednesday.

“This is an important first step in a process that we hope will continue in the coming days. The situation remains very variable. But this is significant progress,” he told reporters.

“I think there will be more in the coming days” and a handful of Americans are expected to leave today, he added.

“The State Department has contacted the Americans in Gaza directly over the past 24 hours to tell them to be prepared to leave and to await further instructions,” he said.
