Apple warns against charging iPhone 15 in cars

Apple admits that wireless charging in cars may break the iPhone 15

Apple has promised to respond to an error that could cause iPhone 15 smartphones to malfunction after contact with a car charger. This was reported by The Verge.

Journalists obtained an internal note from Apple, in which the company admitted that there was a bug with charging new smartphones. Previously, users of BMW and Toyota cars complained that the NFC module in the iPhone 15 failed after the smartphone was connected to a car wireless charger.

Judging by internal documents, Apple is confident that the problem of the disabled NFC module can be solved with an iOS update. The company intends to release the update before the end of the year. Journalists from The Verge warned owners of BMW and Toyota cars against using wireless charging until the company releases an update.

It is noted that due to the failure of NFC, users lose access to the Apple Pay payment service. Also, owners of new cars have the digital key function disabled. Journalists contacted Apple, BMW and Toyota for comment, but did not receive a prompt response.

At the end of October, French authorities allowed Apple to resume sales of the iPhone 12 throughout the country. Previously, sales of devices were suspended due to increased electromagnetic radiation.
