In Williamsport, near the same wooded area where his car was found last Saturday, they found the body of Pedro Argotthe most wanted man in four US states after being identified as the alleged murderer of a judge.

The tracking of this 49-year-old subject had expanded to North Carolina, Indiana and Florida over the past week after authorities located his truck in Maryland.

Pedro Argote’s body, Telemundo Washington reported, was located at 11 a.m., “in a densely wooded area between Clear Spring Road and Bottom Road.”

They reported that the Washington County Sheriff’s Office added that they found him one mile northwest of where his car was found on Saturday, Oct. 21.

Who was Pedro Argote?

Argote was accused of murdering the judge who handed over custody of his four children to his ex-partner.

Noticias Telemundo reported last Wednesday that the suspect was wanted for causing the shooting of Judge Andrew Wilkinson. The events took place on the night of Thursday the 19th of this month.

Pedro Argote and his wife, Eugenia Argote, had a difficult relationship. She had reported him for domestic violence, a case that was unsuccessful in 2022. This year, Judge Wilkinson heard the divorce case.

In that time of coexistence there were ‘abuses’. According to The New York Post, “Argote is alleged to have abused her children, and her eldest daughter testified in court that she beat her with a belt and silenced her baby by stuffing a towel in her mouth.”

That daughter who stated that she was from a previous relationship, said the media mentioned above. The young woman added “that she left home at the age of 18 and cut off all contact with her father because of the treatment she received.”

On Thursday, October 19, 2023, the judge granted “Argote’s wife a ‘partial decree of divorce’.” In addition, he was informed “that he could not have contact with the children and that he had to pay his child support,” Noticias Telemundo explained.

The ruling also granted exclusive use and possession of the family home to Argote’s ex-wife and prohibited her husband from entering the property.

On October 19 at 8 p.m., the judge was murdered in front of his house. His wife and son were in the building.

Argote did not appear at that hearing, but hours later went to Wilkinson’s home and shot him with a legally purchased firearm, police told The New York Post.

Argote’s cause of death and exact date of death had not been released to the press until the morning of Friday, October 27.

A sheriff appeared before the media, Univision Washington said, and confirmed the discovery of Pedro Argote’s body.

He lamented that the family of the judge, who was 52 years old, tragically lost a husband and a father.

Maryland Governor Wes Moore said of the judge’s loss, according to Univision: “My heart goes out to Judge Wilkinson’s family and my prayers are with all who knew him, loved him and served alongside him.”

For the sheriff, “the Washington County community can now breathe a little easier.” (JO)
