Trains will run faster with one driver

The regulation was published on October 23, 2023 in the Journal of Laws. The new regulations will enter into force 14 days after publication. Railway carriers and infrastructure managers will be obliged to adapt their internal regulations to the provisions of the above-mentioned. regulation within no more than 12 months from the date of its entry into force.

Tomasz Gontarz also reported that on Wednesday, the PKP Intercity management board “ordered a correction of the timetable for 23/24 and an increase in speed from 130 to 160 km/h on those (few) sections where there were shortages of double drivers.” “We will conduct a dialogue with the infrastructure manager in this regard. The goal is to shorten the travel time, provide a better offer for passengers and make full use of the parameters of the new and modernized rolling stock,” writes Gontarz.
