The Verge: Google will review smartphone apps using AI
Google has updated the security system of the Google Play application store. This was reported by The Verge.
Corporation specialists noted that applications downloaded to a smartphone will be scanned in real time. Among other things, security algorithms will check programs using artificial intelligence (AI). Google explained that the increased protection is caused by the growth of polymorphic malware – virus programs that are difficult to detect.
The new system will scan applications at the code level and, if suspicious mechanics are detected, report it to the user. Google Play Protect will be available on all Android smartphones equipped with Google Play services.
The company also said that Google Play’s security system scans about 125 billion applications every day to detect malicious code. The new option will be available in all countries, but first of all it will be tested on smartphones of users from India.
Earlier it became known that a special mode will be added to the Android OS, which will protect smartphone data during repairs. The option will block access to data for outsiders; the blocking can be removed using a code.
