Almost 20,000 Poles already use e-receipts, although the application was launched only a month ago. The Ministry of Finance emphasizes the advantages of e-receipts related to rational planning of purchases and enforcement of consumer rights. The ministry also announces the development of the service and the implementation of a “receipt transformation” in our country.

The e-Paragony 2.0 application was launched a month ago. Deputy Minister of Finance Anna Chałupa believes that the 20,000 Poles who have already downloaded the e-Paragony application show an increase in society’s interest in similar services. at the same time, he emphasizes that this is only the beginning of the “receipt transformation” in our country.

– This is a large number of people, considering that we are at the first stage of implementing this service. This is a clear signal to cash register manufacturers, sellers and service providers that Poles would be happy to use e-commerce and it is worth giving them this opportunity as soon as possible. We have signals that customers are already asking in branches whether they can receive an electronic receipt on a smartphone. We hope that there will be more and more such points every month, said Deputy Minister Anna Chałupa.

The e-Receipts application makes it easier to manage your household budget and return the goods

The Ministry of Finance said that “the first cash register models allowing the issuance of e-receipts are now hitting the market” and “manufacturers will be introducing software updates for online cash registers in the coming months, of which there are already over a million.” The ministry also explained the operation of the system allowing the use of e-receipts.

“Information about issuing an e-receipt will go from the cash register in a store or service facility to the Receipt HUB. A customer who has the application on his phone will be able to provide or show a special barcode when shopping. Then the receipt will be sent to his phone. Using the e-Receipt application ensures full anonymity. No one, apart from the application owner, has information about what, where, when and for how much a given customer purchased,” it was reported. The ministry noted that such a mechanism “will generate savings and will be favorable to the environment.”

The Ministry of Finance also listed other advantages of using e-receipts. “You can view receipts at any time, recall purchased products and check statistics. This makes it easier to consciously manage your home budget. Using the application also solves a number of other problems. For example, searching for a receipt when you want to return goods or use warranty repairs. Maybe It will also be useful in determining the original value of a stolen or destroyed item for the purposes of obtaining compensation,” it was emphasized.
