The incidence of influenza in the world, which has declined during the Covid-19 pandemic thanks to preventive measures against the coronavirus, has returned to levels comparable to those before 2020, warned the World Health Organization, which recommended vaccination against the disease to people who being at risk .

“The circulation of viruses such as influenza, Covid or RSV (respiratory syncytial virus) can cause significant problems for healthcare systems,” WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said during his weekly press conference.

“So, The WHO recommends vaccination against flu and also against Covid-19, especially for risk groups,” the Ethiopian expert added, referring to groups such as health workers, the elderly or people with certain chronic diseases.
