Not everyone realizes that Facebook has already made it possible to view and download data about yourself. Thanks to this, we could find out what Meta knows about us or save a backup copy of our photos on a smartphone or computer.
Meta will share information about us. Faster and easier
Now performing these activities will be significantly simplified. that it’s moving both the ability to download and view your data to the Account Center tab (accessible from Facebook, Instagram and Messenger), making it easier to find it. What’s more, we can now decide in one place whether we want to download data from Facebook or Instagram. With one click you will also be able to copy data from both websites at the same time.
The “Activity outside Facebook” function has also been changed, which allows you to check what external companies know about us (e.g. when we log in somewhere using a Facebook account) and what they have shared with the social media giant. The name of the function has been changed to “Activity outside Meta Technologies” and the ability to check similar data shared with Instagram has been added.
You will also be able to easily check in one place which companies share your Meta activity and decide which companies to disconnect from your Facebook and Instagram accounts. In the same place you will also be able to clear all data collected so far. Moreover, Meta will now allow you to easily export all photos and videos uploaded on Instagram to third-party cloud services, such as Google Photos.
