NASA showed a disturbing photo. A huge dark spot covered almost the entire USA

The weekend eclipse over the USA did not completely cover the Sun. But it was enough to cover almost the entire United States in a disturbing shadow. NASA showed a breathtaking photo of this phenomenon.

On Saturday, October 14, the Americas could admire an annular eclipse. The Moon was between our star and the Earth. It was too far from the planet to completely block the sun, but close enough to cast a shadow over virtually all of it

The USA was covered with shadow. NASA showed a disturbing photo

Our Moon’s shadow covered most of the Sun, leaving only a relatively small glow at the edges. This image – seen from the Earth’s surface – resembles a ring, hence the name “annular Suns”. For this reason, however, there was no complete darkness in the USA, but the impact of the eclipse was clear. From the orbit of our planet, it is clearly visible in the photos provided by NASA. The photo was taken by The Deep Space Climate Observatory, which used the EPIC (Earth Polychromatic Imaging Camera) satellite, shows the shadow it cast over almost the entire United States.

Saturday’s eclipse was visible only in some countries. They could be observed in the United States and Mexico and in some Central and South American countries. NASA streamed the eclipse, which you can watch in the video below.

When is the next solar eclipse? When is the solar eclipse in Poland?

An annular solar eclipse is a rare phenomenon. In the United States, the next such phenomenon will not be visible until 2039. In Poland, we will see the annular eclipse even later, only in 2075. Americans will be able to observe a total solar eclipse on April 8, 2024. As for Poland, the next total solar eclipse will only be observed in 2135. The next eclipse that awaits us will be partial and we will see it on August 12, 2026 –
