IT expert Myasoedov warned about the dangers of free smartphone applications
Director of the IT-Reserve company Pavel Myasoedov warned that by downloading a free game or program to a smartphone, the user can not only quietly sign up for an expensive subscription, but also help “spies” monitor him for years. The expert’s words are quoted by the Prime agency.
To avoid trouble, Myasoedov recommends deleting all unnecessary free applications from time to time. According to him, developers often build hidden monetization mechanisms into them. He especially carefully advises checking whether the phone contains solutions with the names: Super Wallpapers Flashlight, Contour Level Wallpaper, Player & iWallpaper, Video Maker, Pedometer, Powerful Flashlight, Super Bright Flashlight, Super Flashlight, Solitaire Game, Accurate Scanning of QR Code, Composite Z, Screenshot Caputre, Wuxia Reader, Plus Weather, Anime Live Wallpaper, iHealth Step Counter, Beauty Camera Plus, Beauty Slimming Photo Editor, Fingertip Graffiti, GIF Camera Editor.
The agency’s interlocutor noted that the above programs were caught in malicious activities. “In other words, hackers were behind them,” he clarified, noting that it is better to remove such applications or reinstall them from a trusted source.
Earlier, the head of the Gem Space superapp development team, Vahe Zakarian, named the main drawback of book-type smartphones with a flexible screen, the sales of which are gaining increasing momentum in Russia due to their unusual design.
