Princess Leonor of Spain comes closer every day to achieving her majority, an event for which the National Mint and the Stamp Factory-Royal Mint have created a coin in honor of the heir to the throne, with a mintage of only one million copies.
The coin will be made of 925 thousandths of silver and copper, weighing 18 grams and having a diameter of 33 millimeters. The central image on the coin will be the face of the Princess of Asturias, who had a photo session taken at the Zarzuela Palace during her student days in Wales.

This collectible will enter circulation on October 31, coinciding with the 18th birthday of the daughter of King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia. The aim is to offer citizens the opportunity to own a symbol of this important milestone in the future queen’s life.

According to Vanitatis, this limited edition coin will have a value of 40 euros and will be distributed through the Bank of Spain, credit institutions and designated public and private entities.

As for the design, the obverse of the coin will feature the image of Leonor de Borbón, at the top there will be the legend “FELIPE VI KING OF SPAIN”, followed by a script and the date of minting (2023). The bottom legend reads “PRINCESS LEONOR”.
The coat of arms of the future queen is shown in color on the reverse of the coin. On the right side the 40 euro value of the coin is indicated, and at the bottom it reads in capital letters “18TH BIRTHDAY OF THE PRINCESS OF ASTURIAS”.
