Genoveba Moya is crying. He brings his hands to his mouth, to his chest, and joins them together. This is how fear and anxiety arise. He hasn’t heard from his teenage daughter in two weeks.
Gisela Ávila Moya, 17, is autistic and disappeared two weeks ago in Las Vegas, United States, Moya told Noticias Telemundo and NBC reported on May 9, 2023.
“I want whoever has it to hand it to me, that they didn’t do anything with it, please, I’m begging you,” he says nervously to the television camera.
“Nobody has done anything to me, otherwise I’ll go crazy because I don’t know anything about her,” the mother insists, bringing her hands back to her eyes.

Genoveba says she took her daughter to school and did not return home.
According to her family, Gisela apparently did not feel comfortable at school. “Some colleagues made her feel bad,” they accused.

‘A man went to talk to her at school’
Gisela has six siblings and they are all worried. “Some friends who go to the same school say someone from outside the institution came to talk to her,” says Gisela’s mother.
These conversations, he was told, took place in the school cafeteria. The person was not a student, he was a man, Genoveba added.
I wonder why the school allowed that, you bring your children to school to protect them.

“I feel like the school is to blame, I never thought I would be in a situation like this,” Genoveba said through tears.
Azul Blue, an autism organization that unites more than 170 families and provides support by uploading messages to Facebook, is aware of the case surrounding the disappearance of the 17-year-old teenager.
Gisela’s parent says she would like to ‘run through the streets of her community’, but shows her legs to the camera. He has, he told Telemundo, an ankle condition “that he has not been able to treat.”
