The Islamist group Hamas today denied “killing, beheading children and attacking civilians” during its attack on Israel on Saturday, in response to “fabricated accusations” by Israeli soldiers about massacres committed by these militants in kibbutzim.
“We strongly affirm the falsehood of the accusations created and propagated by some Western media that adopt the Zionist narrative, including the claim of killing children, beheading and attacking civilians,” Hamas said in a statement, defending that his militia members have only “attacked the (Israeli) military and security apparatus, which is a legitimate target.”
Women, children, babies and the elderly were slaughtered ‘in the manner of Islamic State’, Israeli sources denounced
These statements come shortly after the Israeli military denounced that the militants had “murdered women, children, babies and the elderly who were brutally slaughtered in the manner of Islamic State” during the attack on the Kfar Aza kibbutz.
The Israeli government, for its part, said on Wednesday that it cannot “for the time being” confirm reports that Hamas fighters “murdered” 40 babies at a kibbutz in the south of the country.
On Tuesday, the government’s official @Israel account appeared on the social media site
The video was accompanied by the phrase “40 babies murdered.”
“No one could have expected this to be like this, the horrors I hear from these soldiers,” the reporter said in another video broadcast on the television station’s website.
The information about “40 murdered babies” was widely shared on social networks since Tuesday and was used to condemn the Islamic militia Hamas’ offensive against Israel, which started from the Gaza Strip on Saturday.
“We cannot confirm any numbers at this time,” however, a spokesperson for Israel’s Foreign Ministry, which manages the @Israel account, said on Wednesday when asked about that version. (JO)
