Ming-Chi Ko: Apple Watch will not receive major updates in 2024 and 2025

Authoritative insider Ming-Chi Ko revealed what the new generation of Apple smartwatches will be like. The analyst reported this on his blog on Medium.

According to the specialist, Apple does not expect to add many new features to its smartwatches in 2024. Ming-Chi Ko noted that with his message he is responding to those users who called the Apple Watch 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 released in the fall boring.

The specialist also emphasized that the watches planned for 2024 and 2025 will not provide users with a “significant innovative experience.” Thus, wearable devices will not have the function of monitoring blood glucose levels, which insiders talked about. Future devices may receive an updated design and new straps, but no major updates are expected.

Ming-Chi Ko predicted that shipments of Apple smartwatches in 2023 will decrease by 15 percent to 36-38 million units. Ko also noted that the Apple Watch is “a classic example of a product that has achieved success through repositioning.”

Earlier, Apple CEO Tim Cook spoke with Brut about the need to buy smartphones every year. “I think every year those who want it change their iPhone, and that’s great,” the entrepreneur noted.
