Sony has announced a new version of the PlayStation 5 console. This is reported on the company’s website.
The updated device has a thinner body. The console is 30 percent smaller and 18-24 percent lighter, depending on the version, than the original PS5. The device is available in two versions – with and without a disk drive. Both gadgets received a built-in storage capacity of 1 terabyte.
The Digital version of PS5 will cost $450, while the classic model with a disc drive is priced at $500. Users will also be able to purchase a removable disk drive for $80. The company noted that it will stop selling original PS. By comparison, the classic PS5 without a disc drive, introduced in November 2020, was priced at $400.
The updated PlayStation 5 will first appear in the United States; the console will be available for purchase in November. The consoles will then begin to be distributed worldwide.
At the end of summer, Sony officially introduced a new console for streaming games, PlayStation Portal. The device, which works in conjunction with the PlayStation 5 console, was priced at $199, or about 20 thousand rubles.
