Russians were warned about the vulnerabilities of smartphones with flexible screens
The head of the Gem Space superapp development team, Vahe Zakarian, named the main drawback of book-type smartphones with a flexible screen, the sales of which are gaining increasing momentum in Russia due to their unusual design. The expert’s words are quoted by the Prime agency.
However, it is precisely the most fashionable part of these gadgets – the flexible screen – that is their weak point. According to the agency’s interlocutor, it is much easier to damage it – in order for the phone to bend, the surface must be soft.
At the same time, as the specialist warns, it will not be possible to use the usual protective film due to the fact that the fold line will gradually wear out, and the screen in this place may look scratched.
In addition, the flexibility of the screen can aggravate the consequences of a fall. Also, smartphones of this design do not protect the gadget when it gets into water. “Most regular smartphones will continue to work if they get wet, but foldable models can have serious consequences,” Zakarian warned.
He also drew attention to the high cost of such smartphones with not the best technical characteristics.
Previously, a well-known insider under the nickname MajinBuOfficial revealed the first images of the iPhone 16. He said that he had at his disposal early prototypes of the iPhone 16 smartphones, which are now being developed at Apple. The author noted that compared to the iPhone 15, the new devices will have changes in details.
