Elon Musk is in trouble. Lawsuits are falling on his head like autumn leaves. The latest one involves Twitter

Elon Musk was sued by the US Securities and Exchange Commission just three days after a young California man accused him of defamation. The billionaire will also have to face a lawsuit from his former partner, and this is just the beginning of a long list.

Elon Musk is clearly not having a good run at the moment. The coming months may be a time when we will often hear about the billionaire in the context of subsequent court hearings. Musk or his companies have been sued several times this week alone.

The US regulator sued Musk. You do not appear to testify

On Thursday, the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filed a lawsuit against Elon Musk. The regulator accuses the billionaire of avoiding testifying in the SEC investigation into Musk’s possible violation of regulations. The case dates back to the first half of 2022, when a controversial billionaire bought a large block of Twitter shares (even before he became its owner) and did not inform regulators about it in time.

The billionaire allegedly did not appear at the hearings to which the commission summoned him, which – according to the SEC – is obstructing the investigation conducted against him. The commission therefore wants to force Musk in court to finally testify in the ongoing case. Alex Spiro, the lawyer of the recalcitrant billionaire, said that the commission “repeatedly took into account Mr. Musk’s testimony” and that it was sufficient. He called the investigation “erroneous.”

It’s no secret that Musk greatly dislikes the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. In a television interview, he once stated that he had “no respect” for this regulator. In 2018, Musk already fought in court with the SEC after he announced that he would buy all of Tesla’s shares and then changed his mind, affecting the company’s valuation.

There are many more lawsuits against Elon Musk

This week it also turned out that Elon Musk’s ex-partner Claire Boucher (known under the pseudonym Grimes) was seeking “establishment of parental rights”. The case is to concern one of their three children, in the case of whom Musk admitted paternity only in September this year. Details of the case remain unknown. Earlier this week, the billionaire stayed

These are just a few of the many lawsuits that the richest man in the world will have to face in the near future. Many investigations into Musk’s case are still ongoing. E.g. in July this year. former Twitter employees accused him of failing to pay severance pay in a class action lawsuit. In turn, in August, the billionaire was sued by the AFP news agency and the US Department of Justice, and in June, a group of investors accused Musk of manipulating the dogecoin cryptocurrency.

It is worth noting that Elon Musk is also not idle and eagerly sues other people or companies. For example, at the beginning of September he sued the American organization ADL (Anti-Defamation League) for defamation, and in July his company X Corp. sued the law firm that forced Musk to buy Twitter.
