Valve promised that Counter-Strike 2 would leave the closed beta testing phase by the end of summer 2023. So the developers were a little late, but only by a few days. CS2 officially debuted on Wednesday, September 27, after 11 p.m. Polish time.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Counter-Strike 2 players with Prime status will be matched with other Prime players and will be eligible to receive souvenir sets, random items, and weapon crates exclusive to Prime status holders

The release of CS2 means goodbye to Counter Strike: Global Offensive, one of the most popular online games in the history of the genre. The creators published a video on the X website in which they thank millions of players for 11 years spent with CS: GO.
Counter-Strike 2. What’s new in the game?
Perhaps the most important news concerns: the so-called tick rate, i.e. the frequency of server updates. In CS:GO, the game server checks the state of the game world at fixed time intervals, i.e. clock “ticks”. In the new version, the tick rate will no longer matter when moving, shooting or throwing grenades.
Another new feature is dynamic smoke. Anyone who has ever played CS:GO knows well how important a role smoke grenades play in the game. After the update, grenades will create the so-called dynamic volumetric objects that interact with the environment and respond to lighting, gunfire and explosions
Other changes include:
- improved game engine (Source 2) and refreshed graphics
- new interface and shopping menu
- changed water physics
- improved anti-cheat system
- higher quality sound
- new format of ranked matches
When it comes to requirements hardwarethen the minimum configuration that will be able to cope with CS2 is as follows:
- Operating system: Windows® 10
- Processor: 4-thread – Intel® Core™ i5-750 or better
- Memory: 8 GB RAM
- Graphics card: At least 1 GB memory supporting Shader Model 5.0 and compatible with DirectX 11
- DirectX: Version 11
- Disk space: 85 GB available space
