The smart glasses from Meta (parent company of Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp) are ready to make calls, play music, take photos and stream live videos on Instagram Stories from users’ faces, the company’s CEO announced today: Mark Zuckerberg.

The new model that Meta has just announced is called Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses, which can be reserved in advance and They will go on sale in the United States on October 17 with a starting price of $299.

Now you can go live from the glasses to Facebook or Instagram and use “Hey Meta” to interact with Meta AI, just with your voice.

The glasses have a personal audio system and can play music that only the user can hear.

They also have five microphones, including one on the nose bridge, so that calls can be heard clearly.

Zuckerberg announced that videos can be recorded at 1080p/60 fps, although clips are limited to just 60 seconds. Those who want to shoot longer videos can stream live footage directly from the glasses to Facebook or Instagram using a nearby paired device.

The new glasses feature improved audio and cameras, more than 150 different custom frame and lens combinations, and are lighter and more comfortable, the companies said.

At the annual Meta Connect conference, held today at the Menlo Park campus in Palo Alto, California, Zuckerberg also said users will be able to share photos they take using a voice command and choose where they are sent (e.g. text messages, Messenger and WhatsApp). (JO)
