Founded in 1995 as a pioneer in battery technology, BYD now has a diversified business portfolio including automotive, rail, new energy and electronics.
With an emphasis on environmental friendliness, BYD is the only electric vehicle manufacturer to master battery, electric motor and vehicle control technologies. BYD’s patented iron phosphate batteries are at the heart of the company, providing safe, reliable power to all of its vehicles and energy storage systems.
It is a company committed to high-level technological development and offering zero-emission energy solutions to reduce global dependence on fossil fuels and create a greener world. Currently, BYD’s new energy vehicle footprint covers six continents, more than 70 countries and regions, and more than 400 cities.

BYD in Ecuador
Andor Corporation, representatives of the BYD brand in Ecuador, launched BYD in our country on May 3 and presented three families of 100% electric and zero-emission vehicles. These are the Dolphin EV, Yuan Plus EV and the Han EV models.
BYD is the first brand in the country to present a complete portfolio of 100% new energy vehicles, making them an important reference in the promotion of electromobility in Ecuador.
During the first three months of operation, they had a reservation phase for the first 100 vehicles, the same vehicles that arrived in our country in mid-August.
Brand managers state that this event exceeded their expectations due to the excellent reception that BYD has received in record time in the market, that is, at the end of July they have achieved the goal of reaching the first 100 reservations and are currently in the process of billing and have started delivering the units to each of these first 100 customers.

Briefcase
The proposal is to offer a complete portfolio of new energy vehicles. The plan was to be present with different models covering the main segments of the industry, in such a way that everyone can find the perfect car that suits their needs and expectations. .
This is why, with the arrival of the BYD brand in Ecuador, three models were presented, namely:
In July they presented the new member of the portfolio, the BYD Tang EV, which is shown as an icon of power, safety and technology for the SUV segment. The brand’s plans are to introduce two more vehicles, ending 2023 with six families of new energy vehicles for the Ecuadorian market.
Advantages of electric cars
There are several benefits associated with the impact and contribution to the environment that each of us can generate by migrating to a sustainable mobility option, in our case having a 100% electric vehicle.
Additionally, customers will perceive a financial benefit from two perspectives:

BYD projects
1. Coverage
During the months of September and October, the main dealers open in both Quito and Guayaquil.
In Quito, a dealership opens on Av. Granados and on Av. Orellana, which will have workshops and after-sales service. This way they can offer their customers a total service. These dealers join the points of sale in Quito, on the ground floor of the new section of Quicentro Shopping and on Paseo San Francisco in Cumbayá.
In Guayaquil, a main dealer will be opened in the same way, located on Av. Juan Tanca Marengo. This adds to the exhibition points already located in the new Mall del Sol area, opposite Marathon and in San Marino.
The coverage plan also plans to be present in other cities such as Manta, Cuenca, Ambato and more outlets in Quito and Guayaquil.
2. Expenses
With the arrival of the brand in the country, three 100% electric vehicles were presented, and it is the first and only brand in the country to do so (Dolphin / Yuan / Han). The fourth member of the portfolio was presented at the Guayaquil Autoshow: Tang EV.
In addition, two more vehicles will be presented for the last quarter of the year to complement the current portfolio and conclude the first year with a portfolio of six vehicle families, which will also be 100% electric.
3. Network of electrical stations
The brand is working with various strategic allies on a national network of electricity stations. This plan has two coverage phases, but the first phase, which is expected to be completed this year, will consider thirteen fast charging points in the country’s main cities. The goal is that there is no distance greater than 200 km between each charging point.
